Concerts Canceled
Shock-rocker Marilyn Manson has canceled the last five concerts of his U.S. tour, scheduled next week in Reno, Nev.; Fresno, Calif.; Las Vegas; Phoenix; and Los Angeles. Hundreds of demonstrators have rallied outside Manson’s recent concerts, protesting possible links between his music and the Littleton, Colo., school killings. Critics charge that the dark messages in Manson’s music can influence troubled youths, and the Littleton killers were said to be Manson fans. Manson said he is bowing out of the five shows out of respect for the Littleton victims. “It’s not a great atmosphere to be out playing rock ‘n’ roll shows for us or the fans,” he said, adding that he blames ignorance, hatred and access to guns for the tragedy.
