Preparedness Seminar Today

A local emergency planning committee is having a seminar today on hazardous materials and Y2K preparedness.

The program runs from 1 to 5 p.m. near the food court at the Spokane Valley Mall. The event is free.

Members of the Spokane County-City Local Emergency Planning Committee will be on hand to answer questions about hazardous materials produced, stored and transported in the Spokane area.

They also will talk about the community’s efforts to prepare for the possibility of computer failures on Jan. 1, 2000.
