Sheriff’S Deputies Destroy Pipe Bomb
Spokane County sheriff’s deputies said they detonated a pipe bomb found in South Hill field Sunday.
A man walking his dog discovered the bomb about 8:10 a.m. in a field in the 2600 block of East 65th, sheriff’s spokesman Dave Reagan said.
The device was constructed from a 10-inch piece of PVC pipe that had been capped at both ends and had a fuse sticking out of it, Reagan said.
The fuse had been lighted, but the bomb had not gone off.
The resident left the bomb where it was and called deputies, Reagan said.
Deputies trained in explosives examined the device, then destroyed it in the field.
No one was hurt, Reagan said.
