Prisoner Escapes From Wildfire Crew
An Airway Heights Corrections Center inmate escaped Saturday from a fire crew near Twisp, Wash.
Jeffrey Thomas was missing when the crew’s 35 inmates were counted at 4 a.m. Saturday, officials said.
He was described as a 37-year-old Caucasian, with a 6-foot, 185-pound medium build, brown hair and hazel eyes.
Thomas, who has a long record of burglary and theft, in 1997 began serving a sentence for second-degree theft in Snohomish County and unlawful possession of a firearm in King County. His sentence was scheduled to end in 2002.
