Nethercutt Opens Office On Sprague

Folks looking for a little local help from their congressman can head out to a new Spokane Valley location.

U.S. Rep. George Nethercutt has opened an office near the corner of Pines Road and Sprague Avenue. The small field office will be manned by Nethercutt aide Steve Taylor.

“We wanted to provide more access to people,” Taylor said. “This place is very visible, easy to find.”

That wasn’t so true of Nethercutt’s last Valley office, which was in the basement of the Spokane County Library District’s Valley Branch on East Main Avenue.

“No one could find us,” Taylor said. “It just didn’t work.”

Now that constituents can better locate the office, Nethercutt invites folks to drop by with questions or concerns about anything including Medicare or Social Security to political issues.

Nethercutt decided to open a Valley ofice because heading to his main office in the federal building downtown can be intimidating and a pain when it comes to parking.

“Anyone can come out here,” Taylor said. “Come on by.”
