Citizens Must Be Involved
COVER LETTER
Have you ever felt that the City Council represented everyone but you? Wondered just how and why decisions were made?
So have I. I believe that the council can be more responsive to all citizens. I believe that by involving citizens in the decision-making process from the beginning, much of the mystery and frustration that currently surrounds council decisions can be removed.
As your City Council representative, I pledge to listen to and consider all sides of each issue before coming to a decision. I will strive to have citizens involved in issues well before the vote stage. I will request that all decisions be made at the council meeting, leaving the council briefing session to be just that, briefings only. I will strive for a more collaborative relationship with Spokane County commissioners and a more civil and cooperative tone at City Council meetings.
I am active in the Latah/Hangman Neighborhood and neighborhood assembly and serve on several subcommittees. I have addressed hard issues unflinchingly. I will bring this same energy and commitment to the City Council.
I will be a voice for all citizens, not just special interests.
