COVER LETTER

I was born and raised in a small town named Steubenville, Ohio.

On May 7, 1932, I entered school at the age of 7 at St. Peter Catholic School. I entered high school in September 1947 at Catholic Central.

In my sophomore, junior and senior years, one of the main courses was business management and business law. I graduated on June 8, 1951. I enlisted and spent three years, six months in the U.S.

Air Force. I ended up in Spokane in the spring of 1954. I went to work part-time for the Crescent department store in linens and towels.

I met a lady who worked around the corner at Lubins Ladies Apparel. We were married on June 25, 1955. In the summer of 1956 my father-in-law and I went into business for three years in Parkrose, Ore. In 1959 we were burned out by a disgruntled employee.

When I applied for the position of city councilman to replace Chris Anderson, my opponent refused to allow me to be interviewed. I am well qualified. The only qualifications for this position are being a registered voter and having two years’ residency in Spokane.

I have lived and worked in Spokane for over 36 years.
