COVER LETTER

I choose to run to represent you. I have the knowledge, talents and experience to return a sense of community, a welcoming environment, while improving services that protect and enhance the quality of life for Spokane. By working together we can provide:

Open Government - Necessary, accurate, timely, complete information for all, consent agenda moved to the council meeting. City law allows current initiatives to be on the ballot.

Efficiency - The council continually votes for rate and tax increases to solve budget shortfalls, yet we continually hear, “there’s not enough money.” This needs to change. Three audits “determined significant lack of financial management controls and loss of efficiencies in standard accounting practices … long on effort … short on efficiency and effectiveness.”

Dedicated city employees and citizens deserve better management, which reduces bureaucracy and has more money to:

Fix things when they break.

Ensure public safety, quality neighborhoods, maintain parks/sports facilities including Albi.

Improve infrastructure.

Quality growth management, drop the fiscally/environmentally unsound Lincoln Street bridge project.

Create a positive environment to spark the economy and attract livable wage jobs for Spokane’s working poor.
