I Will Resolve The City’S Divisions
Cover letter
Our city has an urgent need for better, family-wage jobs. As a council member I will use my legislative liaison experience to work with business, labor, community leaders and our state representatives to seek tax incentives that encourage new business and assist existing businesses with tax credits to expand.
As a member of the City Council I would not stand by as neighborhoods and downtown are pitted against one another. Utilizing my past experience with neighborhood and business entities I would go to work immediately to resolve the differences which have developed between various factions of our city with the goal being to assist in the vision of a stronger, whole community where all input is welcome and acted upon.
I applied for this position two years ago. At that time I said the Lincoln Street bridge was not cost-effective or a sound solution to our transportation problems. That was millions of dollars ago and still we have no resolution to the issue.
We can do better! If “hired for the position” I will commit to doing better and moving our city forward.
