Man’S Companion Found, Questioned

Spokane County sheriff’s detectives tracked a homeless man wanted for questioning in his companion’s death to Salt Lake City.

An investigator flew there last week to interview Douglas D. Boe, 47, but he was not arrested, sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Goodwin said Wednesday.

Boe was seen with Jerald Wayne Rowe shortly before Rowe was found dead in a field in the Spokane Valley on June 7.

An autopsy showed Rowe, also 47, died of a head injury.

The two men had been staying in an abandoned camper trailer in the field for a few days before the body was found.

Boe disappeared a short time later. Detectives aren’t sure if someone killed Rowe or if he fell down and hit his head.
