Spokane Valley school boards approved their 1999-2000 budgets this week.
A $67.6 million budget got sound approval from the Central Valley school board.
The $3.3 million increase from last year covers salary increases, a school safety grant, text book purchases, equipment purchases for music and language, and a number of small improvement projects.
East Valley patrons saw their school district’s budget increase about $100,000.
The $30 million budget includes teachers salary increases, plans to purchase a new maintenance facility and small improvement projects at Trentwood Elementary as well as East Valley Middle School.
In the West Valley School District, a $23 million budget was approved on Wednesday.
The majority of the $400,000 increase will go toward salaries.
Other expenditures will include two new school buses and the completion of the Centennial Middle School sports fields.
West Valley’s 1998 technology levy also will pay for $350,000 in new computer equipment.
