Power Pole Fire Causes Pullman Power Outage

A power outage left some parts of Pullman in the dark for more than an hour Monday evening.

The outage occurred around 9 p.m. as fire crews were working on a power pole that caught fire near Stadium Way Extension and Hall Street. Residents first reported seeing sparks from the pole around 7:13 p.m.

According to police dispatchers, all of Military Hill lost power for 45 minutes to an hour, with some sections of town expected to be out for five to six hours.

Power outages were also reported near College Hill.

As of Monday night it was unclear what caused the power pole to catch on fire.
