Amy Bay hit 7 of 9 free throws to lead a 15-for-21 team effort as L-W defeated the Nighthawks 54-44 at Washtucna on Saturday to tie for first place in the Whitman County League. T-O had won eight straight.
Both teams are 13-4 overall and 7-1 in league.
The score in their first meeting was 56-44 for T-O.
Stefanie Wigen added six rebounds and Rochelle Schneider five assists for the Tigercats, the defending league champs. The Nighthawks were hurt when leading scorer Heather Cox had early foul trouble. She eventually fouled out.

Amanda Matt hit three of her four 3-pointers in the decisive third quarter as the ninth-ranked Wildcats defeated the No. 8 Falcons at Creston to take over second place with their 11th consecutive win.
W-C’s Alyssa Erickson, who missed the Wildcats’ 52-42 loss to S-H earlier in the season, had 14 rebounds and hit 6 of 13 from the field. Cherie Dreger added seven rebounds for the Wildcats, who held the Falcons to 26-percent shooting from the floor after the first quarter.
