Lulu, a 150-pound potbellied pig, receives the Trooper Award from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in New York City on Tuesday from ASPCA President Larry Hawk. Lulu saved the life of her owner, JoAnn Altsman of Beaver Falls, Pa., by “playing dead” on the road outside Altsman’s vacation home near Erie, Pa., after Altsman had suffered a heart attack. Lulu’s trick worked - a passing motorist stopped and was able to get help in time.
