Stand By Your Mom
Three of Tammy Wynette’s daughters have written letters asking that the country singer’s body be exhumed for an autopsy. In letters to Dr. Bruce Levy, medical examiner in Nashville, Tenn., the daughters - Jackie Daly, Tina Jones and Georgette Smith - said they want to know for certain how their mother died. Wynette, 55, whose many hits included “Stand by Your Man,” was found dead in her Nashville home last April by her husband, George Richey. She was declared dead by her personal physician, Wallis Marsh, who was flown in from Pittsburgh. Without performing an autopsy, Marsh said the cause of death was a blood clot to Wynette’s lungs.
