Damaged Ford Plant Opens
The Ford Motor Co.’s Rouge complex was up and running Monday, a week after a fiery explosion that killed two people and shut down power at the massive complex.
Plants at the complex make Ford Mustangs as well as engines and a variety of other vehicle components used at 16 of Ford’s 20 North American assembly plants.
Ford expects all six plants at the complex to be running at normal levels by Tuesday, spokeswoman Mary Maxwell said.
Fourteen men remained hospitalized with injuries suffered in the Feb. 1 explosion. Eleven remained in critical condition, two in serious and one in fair.
