Ambassadors Cuts Its Losses
Spokane-based Ambassadors International Inc. reported a $1.1 million fourth-quarter loss, an improvement over the $1.4 million lost during the same quarter of 1997.
The company, which provides travel services, said Friday that net revenue increased 98 percent to $6.5 million from $3.3 million a year ago.
For the year, Ambassadors said net income increased 48 percent to $8.4 million, or 92 cents per share, vs. $5.6 million, or 82 cents per share, in 1997.
Ambassadors International organizes, markets and operates international educational travel programs for students and adults. The company also develops, markets and manages performance improvement programs, provides business meeting management services and provides comprehensive housing reservation, registration and travel services for meetings, conventions, expositions and trade shows.
