Teens Arrested After Theft

Four teenagers from north Spokane were arrested early Monday after an audio equipment store in the Spokane Valley was broken into, and three cars were burglarized.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Nicolas N. Ordway, 18, of 1717 E. Central; Christopher J. Awbery, 19, of 923 E. Sitka; Anthony Nordell Mines, 18, of 5418 N. Lincoln; and a 17-year-old boy living in the 2700 block of East Rowan Avenue.

All were charged with first-degree theft, second-degree burglary and second-degree malicious mischief.

They were arrested in the 14900 block of East Sprague Avenue at 5 a.m. Monday.

According to deputies, three people reported their cars had been broken into that morning. Two break-ins occurred on East Fourth Avenue and the third on South Sullivan Road. Windows had been shattered in all three cars. In two cases, audio equipment had been stolen.

The Sounds on Wheels store at 4823 E. Sprague also reported a burglary and the theft of audio subwoofers that morning. Intruders broke the glass in a garage door at the business.

Deputies stopped the car in which the four teenagers were riding on Sprague Avenue. They were acting on a tip from witnesses. Deputies found audio subwoofers in the car, according to arrest reports.

The three adults were taken to the Spokane County Jail. The 17-year-old was taken to juvenile detention.
