Man Arrested On Possession

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Spokane man with a criminal history at a Spokane Valley convenience store early Wednesday.

Deputies arrested Donald J. White, 2818 N. Crestline, on suspicion of possessing a firearm and methamphetamines.

A clerk at the Zip Trip convenience store at 10708 E. Sprague called deputies around 1:30 a.m. The clerk said a suspicious man was in a parked car near the store’s gas pumps.

When a deputy arrived he had White step out of his car to confirm his identity. During a pat-down search for weapons, White told a deputy he was carrying a gun.

The deputy pulled a black powder pistol from White’s inside jacket pocket and when the deputy removed pocket knives from White’s pants, he discovered a plastic bag with suspected methamphetamine.

White was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. White also had a felony conviction in Montana, making it illegal for him to have a firearm.

White was booked into Spokane County Jail.
