Alpine skiing/snowboarding
49 Degrees North is offering a great deal on night skiing tonight and Saturday: ski tonight for 93 cents and Saturday night for 96 cents. Info: 458-9208.
Conditions at Mount Spokane are excellent with the mountain receiving more than 2 inches of new snow early this week. Mount Spokane’s holiday rates will be in effect today: $25 for adults, $22 for seniors/military/college students (with current I.D.), and $16 for youth. Mount Spokane also offers night skiing for $10 for all ages all season.
Nordic skiing
Big Mountain in Whitefish, Mont., will play host to the second race of the Badger Gonzo Series on Sunday. Two divisions will race on snowshoes and cross country skis.
The Schweitzer Nordic trails were groomed Wednesday.
The entire Methow Valley trail system is open this week, and all trails in the Sun Mountain area have been groomed.
The Mount Spokane trails are hard and extremely icy because of the recent warmer weather.
Snowmobiling
Also because of the weather, most snowmobiling trails are not suitable for riding.
The Shoshone County trails have not been groomed since Dec. 23 and Mount Spokane will not groom until more snow falls.
