North Side Rape Suspect Described
Police have a description of a man who raped and severely beat a woman Sunday in her north Spokane home.
A woman in her 30s was walking in the back door of her home in the 4700 block of North Cannon about 8 p.m. when a man walked in behind her, police said.
He hit her in the face, knocked her to the floor, tied her hands and covered her eyes before beating and raping her, police said.
The suspect then took money from the woman’s purse and left. The victim was treated at a local hospital for her injuries, police said.
The rapist was described as possibly Hispanic, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 230 pounds and was dressed in black. The woman said he spoke fluent Spanish and English.
Investigators also found that several backyard light bulbs had been unscrewed.
