Five years ago: Authorities in Portland arrested Shawn Eckardt, a bodyguard for skater Tonya Harding, and Derrick Smith in connection with the attack on Nancy Kerrigan.

One year ago: Three masked men robbed two Brinks guards of $1.17 million inside New York’s World Trade Center. (The robbers were dubbed the blundering bandits after authorities said they removed their masks while under video surveillance; three suspects were arrested.)
