Bighorn sheep are usually found this time of year at a Washington Fish and Wildlife Department winter feeding station near Metaline Falls, Wash.

This herd of about 27 sheep is managed for wildlife viewing and research. No hunting is allowed.

The feeding sight is at the South end of Sullivan Lake. Drive to the Noisy Creek Campground. From the parking area, you must walk a quarter mile through the snow to the shed where the feed is put out.

Don’t take dogs or pets that would spook the bighorns.
