Cold-Shooting Eagles Fall To Weber State

Joan Langford connected on three 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 17 points to lead Weber State to a 61-43 Big Sky Conference women’s basketball victory over Eastern Washington on Saturday at the Dee Events Center.

Lyndy Burgess hit 5 of 7 shots from the floor and finished with a team-high 12 points for Eastern (6-9, 3-2). Allie Bailey added 11 points and six rebounds.

The Eagles attempted just 17 shots in the second half and made six of them. They finished 1 of 10 from 3-point range for the game.

Brianna Kanongata’a scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Wildcats (5-10, 4-2).

Tracy Ford scored 10 points and had two steals for Eastern, which trailed 31-23 at the half.

The Eagles turned the ball over 27 times and finished with a 40 percent shooting mark (17-43) from the field.
