Lease Renewed For Park Bench Cafe

The operators of the Park Bench Cafe in Manito Park have been given a new three-year lease to continue business there.

The Spokane Park Board approved the lease to Tim and Linda Cobb at its meeting last Thursday.

Parks officials said they have been satisfied with the current operation of the cafe.

The terms of the lease include an option for a two-year extension at the end of the initial three-year period.

The owners are required to pay the city 4 percent of gross receipts, or a minimum of $3,000 a year. An annual financial statement must be provided by the owners to the city.

The city agreed to provide 16 sets of picnic tables and benches for the cafe.
