Man Stabbed While Fixing Rv Near Gas Station

A Spokane man was stabbed early Saturday morning outside a Pines Road gas station while he was fixing his recreational vehicle.

The man, whom Spokane County sheriff’s deputies did not identify, stopped at Pronto Plus Deli Mart at 520 S. Pines after his RV broke down around 11 p.m. Friday.

He went into the store and asked the clerk if he could fix his RV in the parking lot. He offered $20 to the clerk for the inconvenience, according to Spokane County sheriff’s reports.

Around 2 a.m., while the man worked underneath the hood of his RV, two men came from behind and slammed him against the motor home.

The man told sheriff’s deputies one of the attackers grabbed him and poked him in the side with what felt like a knife. The suspect then asked for the man’s wallet.

The man put up a fight and knocked the assailant’s arm away from his side and then punched him. The attacker fell to the ground.

The second suspect lunged at the man and stabbed him in the side twice, according to sheriff’s officials. The man shoved him back. The two men then ran away.

The victim called police on his cellular phone. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his two knife wounds.

Sheriff’s deputies say they have sketchy descriptions of the two suspects.

One man was described as Hispanic, 5-foot-11 with a stocky build, wearing a black jogging suit with a hood. He was wearing a black bandana across his face. Deputies have no description of the other man.
