Snyder Sparks CV Gymnasts
Amy Snyder’s wins on the balance beam and vault guided Central Valley to the team win at a five-way Greater Spokane League gymnastics meet at Rogers on Wednesday.
Snyder scored 8.95 on the beam and 8.9 on the vault to help the Bears pile up 168.55 points.
Amber Baines won the all-around competition with 35.05 points, helping North Central score 155.5 and finish second.
Baines was champion on the uneven bars at 8.65.
Mead (155.45) was right behind NC, led by Marki Stewart’s win in the floor exercise. Mt. Spokane topped the host Pirates for fourth place.
CV is 18-2 in the league standings, trailing Ferris (17-1) with no more GSL meets against the Saxons. Mead (11-9) is in fifth place, while NC (10-11) is sixth.
Tonight’s GSL meet at University features first-place Ferris, third-place U-Hi and fourth-place Shadle Park.
