Man Arrested In Minivan Theft
Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Spokane Valley man this week in connection with the theft of a minivan earlier this month.
Gary G. Miser, 26, of 19020 E. Riverside, was arrested around 4:30 p.m. Monday after deputies saw the stolen minivan in East Spokane.
Deputies said they spotted the maroon 1990 Chrysler Town & Country van, reported stolen from the 2000 block of South Burns Road, near the K mart at 4100 E. Sprague.
The driver pulled the van into the K mart parking lot trying to get away from deputies. He parked the car, got out and fled on foot.
Deputies said they arrested Miser, who was a passenger in the van, for taking a car without the owner’s permission.
Miser had several outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
The car, which had been damaged, was seized.
Deputies described the driver as a 5-foot-9, 170 pound man with shoulder length, curly black hair. He was in his mid- to early 20s and wearing a dark coat, light-colored hat and dark pants.
