Penn State Will Face Arizona

Penn State’s Joe Paterno will open his 34th season as coach when the Nittany Lions play host to Arizona in the Pigskin Classic on Aug. 28.

The Wildcats finished 12-1 and No. 4 in the final AP poll for the 1998 season. Penn State, which finished 9-3, was ranked 17th. The game, to be televised by ABC, will be played in 93,967-seat Beaver Stadium in the first meeting between the teams.
