Looking for love? Enter the Our Generation Blind Date contest, and we might just set you up for a date.
To enter send a one-page letter explaining why you are the perfect candidate for a blind date, the kind of person you’d like to meet on a blind date and an idea for a date.
Include your full name, age, school, home address and phone number. If you want, throw in a picture.
Entries will be judged on the creativity of the letter.
The contest is open to teenagers ages 14 to 18.
The date will take place either Feb. 13 or 14. Winners will need to provide their own transportation to a meeting place. A photographer will accompany the winning couples on their dates and each winner will be required to write a short article about his or her experience.
Entries should be mailed to Our Generation/Blind Date at the address, fax or e-mail at the bottom of this page.
Entries must be received by noon Feb. 2. Winners will be notified by phone and announced in an upcoming Our Generation page.
Finals get in the way of everything, don’t they? We understand, so that’s why we’ve extended the deadline for the Get Creative contest until Friday.
If you were planning to send us that poem or short story or your best illustration, doodle or deep thought, you’ve got a few more days.
Remember to include a 100-word or fewer description of your work telling us what it is and what inspired you to produce it.
Also include your full name, age, school, home phone and address. The contest is open to teenagers in grades 9 through 12.
If we really like your work we’ll publish it in Our Generation in 1999 and pay you for it. We’ll also publish as many entries as we can on our soon-to-be up-and-running Our Gen website.
Send your entry to Our Generation/ Get Creative to the address, fax or e-mail at the bottom of this page.
