East Valley Thumps Rival

East Valley used two pins, two technical falls, two major decisions and a decision in the first seven matches Tuesday night to take an early lead on the way to a 57-8 Frontier League wrestling victory over West Valley at West Valley.

Matt Jolley and Anthony Albee earned pins at 190 and 275, respectively, to help the Knights (3-0) to a 33-0 lead. J.J. Honorof added a 22-5 technical fall at 215 and John Summer an 18-3 technical fall at 108.

East Valley also claimed forfeit wins at 129 and 135.

Jeff Rigsby and Juston Demke earned victories for the Eagles (0-3).

At Clarkston, the Bantams earned five pins on their way to a 38-30 win over Cheney, solidifying a hold on second place.

Clarkston (2-1) moved a full match ahead of Cheney (1-2) in the Frontier League standings.

Great Northern League

Lakeside remained unbeaten in league competition by securing seven pins and two major decisions in a lopsided win over visiting Newport (2-2).

Matt Westenfelder, Adam Laughery, Jake Roney, Jason Cummings, Chad Charbonneau, Justin Belyea and Todd Kenny earned pins for the Eagles (5-0).

At Colville, the Indians (4-0) were victorious in six of the final eight matches to earn a 50-21 win over Riverside.

Jason Divis earned a come-from-behind 9-8 decision over K.C. Bullen at 135 as Colville stayed a half-game behind league-leading Lakeside.

John Larsen (178), Pat Flanagan (215), Steve Nelson (275), Kyle Aiken (108), John Slater (115) and Tom Cahill (122) earned pins for Colvile.

Spencer Murphy (190) and Travis Spackman (101) earned pins for Riverside (1-3).

At Chewelah, Deer Park dominated the upper weights to earn a 45-29 win over Chewelah.

The Stags (2-3) opened up a commanding 39-6 lead after the first eight matches with pins by Brad Martin at 215 and Seth McLean at 275 and forfeit wins at 141, 158 and 190.

Seth Weatherman of Chewelah ran his unbeaten record to 18-0 with a 12-0 major decision at 101 pounds. Josh Kinley wrestled up a weight at 129 and earned a 13-7 decision for Chewelah (1-3).

At Pullman, Medical Lake accepted five forfeit wins on its way to a 64-3 lopsided win over the Greyhounds (0-4).

Jeremiah Johnson led 10-1 in the first round at 141 pounds for Medical Lake (2-2) before holding on for an 11-8 decision over Dave Thivierage.

Andy Denson (168), Galor Flute (178), Joe Gillespie (275), Ray Bowser (115) and Tyler Nelson (122) earned pins for the Cardinals.
