Shadle Presbyterian Plans Bible School
As the Fourth of July weekend approaches and North Side residents are settling firmly into the summer routine, church activities are slowing down to match the summer pace. A few North Side churches are planning events.
Vacation Bible school at Shadle
Shadle Park Presbyterian Church will host its vacation Bible school session July 19-23. Classes will run from 9 a.m. to noon daily for kids age three through the fourth grade. Activities will be organized around the theme “A Treasure Hunt Bible Adventure.”
The session is free. To register or for more information, call the church office at 327-5522. The church is located at 5508 N. Alberta.
Churches gather for service
Five North Side churches will gather for an ecumenical worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday in Shadle Park just south of the library. Participating congregations include New Horizons Community Church, Rock of Ages Christian Fellowship, Shadle Park Presbyterian, Trinity Baptist and Vineyard Christian Fellowship.
The service will feature a combined choir and a puppet show. Those attending are invited to bring blanket or lawn chairs as well as a picnic for after the service.
The public is invited to attend.
Organ music on Tuesday
The American Guild of Organists is having its 1999 Northwest Regional Convention in Spokane next week. The convention, which is expected to attract of 150 organists, will also have several public concerts. Messiah Lutheran Church, 4202 N. Belt, will host a concert by organist Paul Barte at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The suggested donation is $10 per person.
