Socog Denies Discrimination

The Sydney Olympic organizers have opened a phone line to help blind people apply for tickets following a complaint to the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission.

The complaint, lodged on behalf of Bruce Maguire, claimed discrimination because SOCOG had not provided a braille version of the official ticket book.

The commission’s interim finding required SOCOG to maintain Maguire’s rights to apply for tickets after the July 16 deadline until a final determination could be made.
