Man Critically Hurt When Pickup Hits Him

From Staff

A 61-year-old man was badly injured Thursday when he was hit by a pickup in east Spokane, police said.

The victim was crossing Sprague Avenue at Napa when he was hit by the pickup, which was turning onto Sprague from Napa, said Dick Cottam, police spokesman.

The collision occurred about 12:30 p.m. The victim was in the crosswalk when he was hit, Cottam said.

The man was listed in critical condition late Thursday at a hospital. The pickup driver, whose name was not released, wasn’t hurt.

Police are investigating the case, but no citations have been issued, Cottam said.
