Shootout Suspect Used False Name

A man arrested during a shootout with Bonner County deputies Wednesday was using an assumed name, police said Friday.

The man identified as Phillip Allen Morrison, 26, is actually Anthony David Culy, Lt. Chuck Day said.

Culy, charged with trafficking methamphetamine and eluding an officer after Wednesday’s shootout, is also under federal charges of conspiracy and manufacture of a controlled substance and faces several other charges in Oregon, Day said.

He is being held in the Bonner County Jail on $350,000 bail.
