Boeing Rejects Disabilities Charge
The Boeing Co. has rejected federal charges that it unfairly withdrew job offers to applicants it believed had disabilities.
Last week, in a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission accused the aerospace manufacturer of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act in the cases of four Boeing job applicants.
Boeing said Tuesday it complied with the statute, while also ensuring its employees were not placed in dangerous situations.
“Boeing feels confident the decisions it made were right, appropriate and lawful,” the company said in a statement. “The company has a duty to see that individuals are not placed in jobs that would put them at risk.”
