Hemingway Centennial
Ernest Hemingway, who died July 2, 1961, exchanges pleasantries with Cuban Prime Minister Fidel Castro in May 1960. Castro had just won the individual championship in the Hemingway Anglers Tournament, catching five fish weighing a total of 286 pounds. Hemingway didn’t catch any. Ceremonies in Havana on Wednesday marked what would have been the author’s 100th birthday.
