Spotlight: Senior Try-It Week
As a prelude to the Washington State Senior Games, scheduled for Aug. 12-15 in Spokane, the next seven days have been set up for those 50 and older to try different activities for free.
Today: Lawn bowling, Mission Park, 10:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. (flat shoes); racquetball and tennis, Central Park Racquet Club, 1-3 p.m.
Saturday: Pocket billiards/8-ball, Dinghy’s Corner Pocket, 1-4 p.m.; dance, Avalon Dance Studio, 1-4 p.m.; lawn bowling, Mission Park, 10:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
Sunday: Bowling, Silver Lanes, 1-3 p.m.
Monday: Bridge, 1717 W. 6th, 11 a.m.; darts, Great Scott Pub & Grill, noon-9 p.m.
Tuesday: Horseshoes, Franklin Park, 7 p.m.; shuffleboard, Holman Gardens Retirement Community, 9 a.m.; table tennis, 1215 S. Raymond Court, 2 p.m.; track & field, Spokane Community College (466-7112), 6 p.m.
Wednesday: Badminton and pickleball, West Central Community Center, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
