Train Crash Victim Listed Stable

A Priest River woman traveling in a car that was hit by a train in Ponderay on Friday afternoon was in stable condition Saturday at Bonner General Hospital.

Terri Caldwell, 45, suffered a broken pelvis when a Union Pacific train hit the Mitsubishi Mirage driven by Mark Caldwell, 48.

The train was only moving about 16 mph, according to the ISP.

Mark Caldwell was cited for failing to stop at the railroad crossing, located at the intersection of state Highway 200 and Kootenai Cutoff Road.
