Merrill Lynch & Co., joining upstarts like ETrade as well as long-established brokerages like Charles Schwab, announced it is creating an Internet site for individuals to buy and sell stocks for $29.95 a trade.

Saab Cars USA Inc. said it will recall about 26,000 Saab 9000 cars to fix a defect that could affect the air bag’s ability to function properly in a crash. The recall is of Saab 9000s from model years 1992 through 1994.

Online broker ETrade Group Inc. is buying online banker Telebanc Financial Corp., creating an Internet-based financial services company.
