Churches Offer Summer Classes For Kids
School will be out soon and with it comes the dilemma of what to do with children in the summer months. There are a variety of options available, including vacation Bible schools run by North Side churches.
Whitworth Presbyterian Church will host a “Son Castle Faire” June 21-25. All children age 4 through the sixth grade are welcome to attend the classes, which will run from 8:45 a.m. to noon daily.
The cost is $5 per child and all participants must be registered by June 15. To register or for more information, call the church office at 466-0305.

The First Church of the Open Bible will present a “Treasure Hunt Bible Adventure” June 21-25. The free classes will run from 9 a.m. to noon daily. All children in grades K-6 are invited to attend.

Addison Baptist Church, 6120 N. Addison, will host “Mount Extreme: The Ultimate Good News Challenge” June 21-25. Classes will run from 9 a.m. to noon daily and are open to all children age 3 through the sixth grade.
The sessions are free and will include music, crafts and Bible activities. Preregistration will take place at the church from 2 to 3 p.m. June 19. For more information, call the church office at 487-6757.
Churches join for service
Whitworth Presbyterian will host two events this weekend. With the help of congregations from Calvary Baptist, New Hope Baptist and St. Matthew’s Baptist, Whitworth will hold a special worship service at 7 p.m. Sunday.
The church will also host missionaries David and Jean Legters at 7 p.m. Saturday. The couple works in Mexico and will be talking about their work and showing videos. All are invited to attend.
Kids take over
The youth of St. David’s Episcopal Church will be running the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday. The graduating high school seniors will also be recognized during the service and the reception following.

Summer worship schedule at North Hill
North Hill Christian Church, 4620 N. Post, has switched to its summer worship schedule. Services are now being offered at 10 a.m. each Sunday.
Yard sales this weekend
The First Church of the Nazarene will host a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Food will also be available for purchase. The proceeds will benefit the church’s youth program. The church is at 9004 N. Country Homes Blvd.
St. Francis Xavier Catholic School will have a rummage sale Saturday and Sunday. The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Proceeds will benefit the school’s general fund.
The school is at 544 E. Providence.
