Highland Park Methodist Plans Bible School With Western Theme
School will be out soon, and with it comes the dilemma of what to do with children in the summer months. There are a variety of options available, including vacation Bible schools.
Highland Park United Methodist Church, 611 S. Garfield, is planning its vacation Bible school for June 21-25. The free classes will run from 9 to 11:45 a.m. daily, and are open to all children age 3 through the sixth grade. The event will have a Western theme, with children making crafts and playing Native American games.
Children registered before June 15 will receive a T-shirt. For more information or to register, call the church office at 535-2687.
Fund-raiser for youth on Sunday
Manito United Methodist Church will host a talent show and ham dinner Sunday at 6 p.m. The meal is by donation and proceeds will be used to send church youth to summer camp.

Picnic lunch on Sunday
The Spokane Unitarian Universalist Church will host a potluck picnic Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a dish to share as well as their own place settings. There will also be a variety of outdoor games.

Organ concerts upcoming
Organists James Barrett and Janet Ahrend will perform in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1115 W. Riverside. The duo will play works for two organs, including pieces by Handel, Bach, Dvorak and Krebs.
The concert is free, but donations will be collected.
Five musicians will play the pipe organ at Central Lutheran Church during a concert at 4 p.m. Sunday. All organists are members of the church. The concert is free, but donations will be collected.

Summer worship changes
The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist has switched to its summer worship schedule. Services are now being offered at 8 and 10 a.m. each Sunday. In addition, a short service is now offered in the Cathedral’s chapel at 12:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Cathedral is at 127 E. 12th.
Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline, will switch to its summer worship schedule on Sunday. One service will be offered at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday.
Rummage sale this Friday and Saturday
St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 5720 S. Perry, will host a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Some of the proceeds will be donated to area charities.
