Egg Thrower Injures Two In Drive-By
A North Spokane family reunion was marred Saturday when a drive-by egging nearly blinded a woman.
Spokane Police said an unidentified blond youth, age 17 to 19, assaulted two people with eggs hurled from a moving car at 9500 N. Division.
One egg struck a Priest River woman in the eye, another hit a man from Chewelah. Both were attending a family reunion and staying at the Apple Tree Inn. Their names were not released.
Police spokesman Dick Cottam said the victims were treated and released from a local hospital, but the woman will require additional treatment from an ophthalmologist.
Relatives of the victims followed the fleeing vehicle and obtained the license number of a silver-and-black 1986 GMC Jimmy. They gave the description of the vehicle and the passenger who threw the eggs. No description was available of the driver.
No arrests have been made and authorities will continue to investigate today, Cottam said. If found, the suspects could be charged with second-degree assault, a felony.
