Northstars Sweep Legion Doubleheader

Dan Stucky and Nick Scott each drove in a pair of runs and Ryan Pugh went 3 for 3 with an RBI to lead the Northstars to a 9-7 victory over the Cannons in the Senior American Legion opener at Shadle Park on Sunday.

Dan Thigpen went the distance for the Northstars, striking out seven.

Shae Lamphere collected three singles and Keith Wycoff doubled in a pair of runs for the Cannons.

In the nightcap, the Northstars overcame an 11-0 deficit to post a 13-11 victory.

Kent Hibbard’s three-run home run sparked the Northstars comeback effort.

Lamphere had two hits and three RBI for the Cannons.
