Teamsters Withdraw Request For Coldwater Creek Election

The Teamsters have withdrawn a request for an election on union representation at Coldwater Creek’s East Coast distribution center.

Company officials said the petition grossly underestimated the number of workers at the plant.

Two hundred people work at the distribution center, the Sandpoint-based catalog retailer said.

Language in the petition indicated “at least 30 percent” of the workers wanted an election, but wrongly listed the center’s employment as 90 people, company officials said.

Teamsters officials were not available for comment Monday.

None of Coldwater Creek’s 1,250 employees in Idaho or West Virginia is currently represented by a bargaining unit.
