Avista Names New Controller
The Avista Corp. board of directors recently elected Christy Burmeister-Smith to oversee financial reporting for the Fortune 500 utility company.
As vice president and controller, Burmeister-Smith will take over a portion of the duties of Ron Peterson, who has been filling the roles of both treasurer and controller since November.
Burmeister-Smith graduated from Boise State University in 1980, joining Avista Corp. (formerly Washington Water Power Co.) that year. She is a certified public accountant.
Avista posts annual revenues of more than $4 billion and is a diversified energy company with utility and subsidiary operations throughout North America.
