Employee Sought In Robbery Probe

Police want to question a Spokane teenager about a recent armed robbery on the South Hill.

Daonoy Vilayvong, 17, also is wanted on a warrant charging him with escape from juvenile detention, police said Wednesday.

Detectives believe Vilayvong robbed Sonic Burrito, 2622 E. 29th, at gunpoint about 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Employees recognized Vilayvong, who had worked at the restaurant in the recent past, police said.

He is wanted for escape because he removed a home-monitoring ankle bracelet he was required to wear as part of his release from juvenile detention in another case, police said.

Police believe he took off the bracelet and stole his father’s truck and gun June 13.

Anyone with information on Vilayvong’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
