Spotlight: Senior Games

Attention all you couch potatoes or wannabe athletes 50 or older: It’s time to sign up for the Washington State Senior Games.

The 1999 Games will be held in Spokane Aug. 12-15. Deadline is July 15. Registration material is available at 24 Hour Fitness locations in Spokane and Post Falls and HealthSouth locations in Washington and Idaho. Cost is $12 for one event, a T-shirt, medal or ribbon and event program.

There will be 22 competitions and/or participation events.

In conjunction with the Games, there will be a Senior Try-It Week, in which event organizers will provide free lessons and opportunities to those 50 and older to get involved.
