Edith Hanson To Be Honored

Long-time Valley horsewoman Edith Hanson will be honored Wednesday at a gathering of the Trail Markers riding group.

The Trail Markers will meet at 10:30 a.m. in Liberty Lake Park to rehang the sign marking the trail that was named after Hanson a decade ago.

The sign, scarred by graffiti over the years, was restored by local riders who have been inspired by Hanson’s dedication and sportsmanship.

Now in her 90s, Hanson continues to ride her Arabian over the park’s many remote trails. Many believe she knows the trail system better any other local rider.
