Bandits Pummel Pullman

Brian Crowder went 3 for 3 with a home run and six RBIs to lead the Bandits to a 15-0 thrashing of Pullman in Senior American League baseball at Shadle Park on Monday.

Brandon Florence homered and drove in three runs, while Mike Johnson scattered four hits over five innings for the Bandits.

Nick Paulson singled and doubled for Pullman.

The game was called after 4-1/2 innings because of the mercy rule.

The Kennewick Dusters took advantage of six errors by the host Blue Devils to post a 6-3 victory, despite getting just three hits.

Josh Taylor belted a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning for the Blue Devils.

Volleyball

It was an impressive day for the Spokane Splash girls teams at the National Junior Invitational in Sacramento, Calif.

The U-18 Splash went 3-0 with wins over teams from San Diego, Anaheim and Philadelphia to stay in the top 32 teams for today’s seeding pools.

The U-17 Splash also went 3-0 with wins over teams from Palos Verdes, Calif., Marin County, Calif., and Cowlitz, Ore. They also will be seeded among the top 32 teams.

The U-16 Splash won their first two matches. Further information was unavailable.
